The faculty of Law conducted a diploma law programme review. A function for the reporting of the findings of the review was held on 3 October 2016 in the law faculty boardroom. The diploma law programme was initiated in 2001.Dr E. Kunkwezu and Dr S. Chiziwa presented the report of the review. Consultations were made with stakeholders to find out if the program was relevant to their needs. It was established that the programme has helped a lot, as most of its participants have been promoted in their various places of work upon finishing the programme. Thus the programme has increased the participant’s competences. It was also observed that the programme has opened opportunities for students to pursue a law degree if they do well in the programme. However, it was observed that there is a challenge in course delivery due to the diverse background of its enrollers. The post graduate students grasp concepts easily than those coming straight from secondary schools. The faculty promised to discuss the report at its next faculty meeting and map out the way forward.
